Good Morning Camp NaNoWriMo!

And so it begins....I have dutifully decided that I am going to give this a shot! Now, don't get me wrong....do I think I'll succeed? Highly unlikely, considering my lifestyle, but hey ho, here I go.

For those who are unfamiliar with Camp NaNoWriMo, it is a challenge for those who have ever wanted to write a novel. Camp runs from 1st April 2013 to 30th April 2013 and again from 1st July 2013 to 30 July 2013.It is extremely addictive, stressful and the desperation to complete it is overwhelming. How do I know? I had a go at NaNoWriMo in November 2012.

It's free to join, and once you've signed up, all you need is drive, determination and a lot of caffeine!.

It's not a camp really in terms of tents and small gas burners, it's a camp because it's in between NaNoWriMo which is held each year in November.

I'm extremely proud to announce that I achieved 22,000 words in eleven days in November 2012....and my computer broke, completely dead, not even that hopeful flicker of light when you plug it in at the mains...nothing- nada- zilch (just to get my point across).

So after a tearful and completely irrational few days, my stride had been broken as much as my computer, and any hope of regaining my lost 22,000 words was gone.

With my head hung, I marched to the technical shop and purchased my iPad...with which I am now inseparable.

Braving my demon, and going back to the scene, I ventured onto the NaNoWriMo site and discovered Camp NaNoWriMo! It was as if it was giving me a great big bear hug and telling me it was ok, whilst wiping away my tears with a big soft handkerchief.

Here it begins....will I manage it...or won't I?, what you bet? Working part time, mother of three, running a home, hospital appointments, a blog, twitter and facebook pages to run....I'm giving it a go...wish me luck!
